Friends of the Poor® Walk

Poverty and food insecurity touch many lives right here in our community, and this walk is our chance to stand together and make a greater impact for more neighbors. Every dollar you donate directly funds immediate relief for vulnerable families calling our helpline—including the distribution of non-perishable boxed food, rental and utility assistance, and temporary lodging for those experiencing homelessness.

Together, we can ensure no neighbor has to walk alone.

Event Date: Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

Meeting Spot: By the Rialto Bridge on the Pacific Electric Trail at 198 N. Cactus Ave., Rialto, CA 92376.

Please arrive by 7:45 AM to check in and gather with fellow walkers before we head out on the trail!

Parking Availability: Unpaved parking directly at the Rialto Trailhead on N. Cactus Ave. and at a vacant lot across the street.

Street parking can be found throughout the surrounding residential area.

Carpooling and arriving early is highly encouraged for securing a parking space, time for check-in and ensuring a fun walk.

Choose Your Distance

The Pacific Electric Trail is fully paved, flat and highly accessible for walkers of all fitness levels. Participants can choose between two route options.

Option 1: The Standard Loop (2.6 Miles)

• Turnaround Point: N. Maple Ave Intersection.

• Estimated Time: 50 to 60 minutes.

• Details: Head west along the trail from the Rialto Bridge to Maple Ave, then loop back to cross the finish line where we started.

Option 2: The Extended Route (5.8 Miles)

• Turnaround Point: Fontana Lewis Library & Technology Center.

• Estimated Time: 2 hours and 10 minutes.

• Details: For an extra challenge, continue walking further west into central Fontana to turn around at the library landmark before heading back.

• Note: If choosing this option, please maintain a brisk pace to ensure you complete the route by our 10:30 AM conclusion.
